SUPERCHISEL

Superchisel Video

The Summers Superchisel is ruggedly designed and constructed in three and five section units for heavy-duty use in a wide range of soil types and field conditions.

The floating hitch and tricycle wheel arrangement provide more consistent penetration depth.  A convenient stop on one hydraulic cylinder provides positive depth adjustment.

The frame has four ranks with 38 in. between ranks and has a minimum of 36 in. between shanks on each rank for excellent residue flow.

The Superchisel folds compactly for transport.  Superchisel frame features a modular design for future width expansion.

The three-section units are available in sizes of 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42 and 44 foot working widths.

The five-section units are available in 50, 52, 54, 56, 58 and 60 foot working widths.

Three and five section Superchisels are designed for

consistent performance regardless of working width.

Field Tested Tough 4 in. x 4 in. x 3/8 in. wall square steel tube main frame is supported by a tricycle wheel arrangement. This arrangement, along with the floating hitch, means a more consistent working depth over ground contours.

Tandem axles equipped with 11L x 15 in. tires on wings assist with leveling machine and providing depth control.

All wing wheel hubs are heavy duty 6-bolt with grease fittings and are protected by trash-guarded V-seals.

The floating hitch and 11L x 15 in., 10 ply tires (12.5L x 15 with 8-bolt hubs on 5-section center) help insure accurate depth control. Machine front center axles are equipped with walking duals for better floatation.

Measuring 1-1/4 in. x 2 in., the chisel shanks feature a 6 inch pivot width and are formed "on edge" to reduce draft and improve residue flow.

The shanks have a slotted bottom hole and give over 31 in. of frame-to-sweep tip clearance. They are spaced on 12 in. centers with total of 16 shanks on the center section.

Aggressive springs keep sweeps at preset levels for consistent working depths. A trip pressure of 700 lbs. helps minimize damage when encountering large rocks or other immovable obstructions. Maximum shank tip height is 15 in.  Optional 1050 lb. trip pressure is available on 28' through 36' machines.

Optional wing extensions increase machine widths in increments of 2, 4 and 6 feet (see size ranges below)

Heavy duty gauge wheel assembly is easily adjusted with screwjack to maintain uniform depth on the wings.

Rephasing cylinders located on each frame section provide depth control. (Depth stop cylinder shown.)

Fitted with the optional Model 104 or Model 106 Summers Mounted Harrow sections, this chisel plow will provide smoother surfaced fields with evenly spread residue. Harrow sections may be raised up and locked when not in use.

OPTIONAL REAR HITCH
Long-reach hitch for auxiliary trailering, features extendable, swinging tongue for easy hook-up.
