CULTI-HARROW


 

 

84, 98, & 112 Foot Models
Bent spring teeth vibrate in all directions to cover every inch of soil.  Air pockets are eliminated and weeds uprooted.  Fine soil particles are settled into a firm, moisture sealed seedbed.  Larger soil clumps and clods are left on the surface to deter wind erosion.
Culti-Harrows feature hefty 4" X 6" tubular drawbars for rugged duty.  The long hitch helps the section to run "square", reducing "see-saw" and tooth skip.

Sized for your operation, the 25 to 77 ft. models are equipped with a 16' hitch.  The 56' to 112 ft. models, equipped with a 20' hitch, are designed to cover large acreages fast.
Specially designed transport wheels allow for easy opening to field position...   just back up and lower the Culti-Harrow hydraulically.  Hydraulics also provide trash dumping "on-the-go".

Culti-Harrow Features:

Culti-Harrow sections are attached with adjustable double pull chains. These are available in 5-bar styles.
These heavy duty sections with their respective tooth numbers and weight provide 5 lbs. per tooth working pressure!  Most other brands provide no more than 3 lbs.
The teeth are 3/8" diameter x 14" long and are made of oil-tempered, high-carbon steel.  They are firmly attached with a 1/2" cap screw and special clips.  This attachment method allows maximum "tooth action".
All Culti-Harrow sections feature the proven "bent" teeth with adjustable angle setting.  (The "bent" tooth design is an industry first, introduced and used by Summers Mfg. Co., Inc. since 1964.)  These two features alone provide unsurpassed versatility.  Straight teeth are available as an option.
With the teeth set in the forward position, the harrow can penetrate 2-3 inches.  Used as an ONLY tillage operation, moisture is conserved and expenses reduced.
With the teeth set back, the harrow will do a terrific job of killing wild oats after the seeding operation.
Chance of soil  blowing is reduced because of the deeper tine penetration and less pulverizing of the surface layers.

Heavy-duty ductile cast knuckle for wing flex and transport folding Adjustable hydraulic lift cylinders provide precise leveling and easy lifting. Hitches are constructed of steel tube in 16 and 20 ft. lengths for smooth performance. Hitches can be equipped with the Summers®     Agri-Spray System.

Dual floatation tires on the 20' hitch reduce soil compaction. The hefty, patented split-hinged wings on larger units provide even tillage depth over the entire width.  Two pins lock wings for transport. Optional Cable Auto-Folds automatically retract single or dual cables (dual unit shown).
